California wildfire hazard zones, county by county

All 58 counties, with the Fire Hazard Severity Zone classes CAL FIRE's statewide service records in each. The column that matters most is the last one.

Why "reaches incorporated land" is the useful split

Hazard-class presence barely varies across California: 56 of 58 counties have Very High, High and Moderate zones somewhere on state responsibility land. Knowing that a county contains a Very High zone therefore tells you almost nothing.

What does vary is whether Very High reaches locally governed land — the incorporated cities and towns. In 33 counties it does, which means ordinary in-town addresses can carry the state's highest hazard rating rather than the exposure being confined to the rural edge. In 23 counties it does not. 2 have no mapped zones at all (San Francisco and Sutter).

Presence, not coverage. These are the classes that occur somewhere in each county. No percentage of area is shown: the hazard service returns whole polygons that intersect a county rather than polygons clipped to it, so any share figure would overcount by an unknown amount.

Check a specific address

Zone boundaries do not follow parcel lines, so the county answer is not the property answer. This returns the Fire Hazard Severity Zone and FEMA flood zone for one address, read live from the state and federal services.
